LNG CARRIER
LNG Ship Management since more than 25 Years As far as ship management services are concerned PRONAV has the capacity not only to operate dry cargo vessels, but has specialized itself on tanker operations, which includes all kind of liquid cargo transportation like crude oil, products, chemicals, ethylene, liquid propane gas (LPG) and liquid natural gas (LNG). In close cooperation with companies in USA and Japan PRONAV operates under full management a fleet of 8 LNG Carriers, each of 126.000 cbm. In addition 2 sister vessels of same size are operated under a co-operation agreement. Liquefied Natural Gas - Energy of the future The increasing environmental awareness around the world has highlighted natural gas as an attractive energy resource. Demand for supply of natural gas is rising and the need for sea borne transportation is increasing accordingly. Until 2010 the average yearly growth in trade volume is expected to be more than 9%. The number of LNG Carriers is expected to double during that period. Cooperation with QatarGas QatarGas, situated in the Arabian Gulf, is one of the world's leading supplier of liquefied natural gas and condensate. Shareholders are Qatar Petroleum, Exxon Mobil, Total Final Elf, Mitsui and Marubeni. Qatargas is increasing its existing annual output of 6.000.000 tons to 9.000.000 tons in 2005 and will double this amount until 2010. The existing fleet of 10 LNG Carriers shall be reinforced by 8 new LNG Carriers in the first instance and followed by another substantial number of vessels, to be delivered from the end of 2007. Among various international competitors PRONAV has been awarded to supervise construction and operate 4 of the new LNG Carrier under full management for the next 25 years after delivery from the builder.
